USDA offers grants up to $250,000
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (September 07, 2017) – The Washington County Office of Agricultural Business Development is pleased to offer one-on-one grant counseling for USDA Value-Added Producer Grants.
Applying for grants can be a difficult process. To help create, prepare and submit your application for USDA grants, the Department of Business Development will be providing one-on-one coaching opportunities. Interested parties should call or email to make an appointment for the following dates:

|October 17||11 a.m. to 7 p.m.|
|November 20||10 a.m. to 7 p.m.|
|December 14||10 a.m. to 7 p.m.|
|January 18, 2018||10 a.m. to 7 p.m.|
The Value-Added Produce Grant was designed to help agricultural producers enter into value-added activities related to processing and/or marketing bio-base, value-added products.
Grant funds can cover costs related to planning activities or working capital expenses necessary for processing and marketing value-added products. Up to $75,000 is available for planning activities and up to $250,000 for working capital. Matching funds for 50% of total project costs are required.
Producers must apply no later than January 31, 2018.
